Stainless steel and iron railings
Railings are protective features for both staircases and balconies, combining safety and protection with style and design. One of their key benefits is that they can be installed both outdoors and indoors. That said, if you choose wrought iron railings for exterior use, it’s advisable to apply a more complete protective treatment so they stand up better over time.
At TusRejas.com you can buy modern iron railings, classic wrought iron railings and stainless steel railings, in a variety of designs and made to measure. With the option to purchase direct from the workshop, without intermediaries. And with the reassurance that they are designed and manufactured in Barcelona (Spain).
Whether you choose iron or stainless steel, our railings are built to deliver a longer service life. We tailor everything to the measurements you need and to the budget you have in mind.
Stainless steel railings
Railings, whether outdoors or indoors, are an essential safety feature. For that reason, they should be made from a strong and durable material such as stainless steel. There’s a wide range of stainless steel railing designs, and they can be used in interior or exterior settings: on staircases, balconies or terraces.
Thanks to their composition, stainless steel railings require very little maintenance. As stainless railings, they cope well with harsh weather, sudden temperature changes, and so on.
Stainless railings for indoor or outdoor use can suit both modern and classic looks. And when it comes to finishing, they can take different paint systems and textures, making it easier to match the surroundings and décor.
What’s more, they’re competitively priced and, because ongoing maintenance is minimal, you save twice over. In our online shop you’ll find them with delivery across Europe.
Wrought iron railings
Iron railings are another safety solution you can use at home, in an office, a restaurant, and more. At the same time, they can work as excellent decorative features. Without losing sight of the role they’re built for, wrought iron railings are ideal for blending into the style of a property in a balanced, harmonious way.
At TusRejas.com we offer a wide variety of designs. You can also customise your own railings with different shapes and accessories. You have plenty of options and, depending on your taste, you can choose modern wrought iron railings or, on the contrary, more classic styles.
Another appealing feature of modern iron railings is that they can be combined neatly with other materials for a well-balanced finish. The advantage of designing your own wrought iron railings is that you receive them direct from the workshop, without intermediaries.
Slope, fixing options and finishes
Before buying railings, it’s worth defining a few variables that affect the final result: whether you need them straight or sloping, the type of fixing, whether they will include posts or not, the handrail, and the finish. Choosing these points well helps you achieve railings that are safe, comfortable to use, and in keeping with the look of the space.
Straight or sloping railings
First, you can choose between straight railings (common for balconies, terraces and linear runs) and sloping railings (designed to follow the angle of a staircase). This choice influences the made-to-measure manufacture and how support points are distributed, so the whole assembly remains stable with a clean visual line.
Fixing types
Next comes the fixing. Depending on the substrate and the installation approach, you can opt for solutions such as bolt-on feet, bolt-on plates, side fixings with pre-drilled holes or cast-in feet. Each system suits different requirements: from quicker bolt-on installations to fixings designed to be integrated into the build for an especially solid anchor.
With or without posts
Another key variable is whether the railings will be with posts or without posts. In post-supported designs, the structure relies on vertical members that help distribute loads and give the railings more presence. In designs without posts, the look is more continuous and lightweight, while still maintaining the required strength depending on size and configuration.
Iron or stainless handrail
For the handrail, you can choose a Ø40 iron handrail or a Ø43 stainless steel handrail, bearing in mind the stainless option may have an additional cost. The handrail isn’t only about comfort in the grip: it also defines the style. Iron suits classic or industrial settings, while stainless steel gives a more contemporary feel.
Materials used
In terms of materials, these railings are made with 40×8 solid flat bar, 40×40 tube posts, and include alternating Ø16 solid turned forged bars, a detail that reinforces the sense of strength and adds character to the design.
Finishes
Finally, you can choose from several finishes, and the final price varies depending on the option: unfinished, anti-rust primer, galvanised, powder coating to any RAL colour, or galvanised + powder coating to any RAL colour. This way you can tailor both weather protection and the overall look, so the railings work with the façade, joinery or the general style of the space.
FAQs about railings
What height do you recommend, and what regulations apply depending on use? (indoor/outdoor/staircase)
As a general rule, where there is a risk of falling, the railing should have a minimum height of 110 cm from floor level.
In any case, the final height may depend on the use, the location and the specific characteristics of the installation.
How do I measure a staircase? (flights, landings, angles)
On staircases, measuring can be more complex because sloping flights, landings and possible changes of angle all need to be taken into account.
For sloping sections, the diagonal length and the height difference between the two points are usually measured.
As each case can vary, we recommend taking photographs of the staircase and contacting our technical department so that we can check the measurements properly before you place the order.
Top fixing or side fixing: when is each option recommended?
The choice between top fixing and side fixing depends on the type of support, the space available and the finish you want for the installation.
If you are unsure, we recommend taking photographs of the area and checking with our technical department so that we can assess the most suitable option.
What type of support is there? (concrete, metal, wood) What fixing do you recommend?
The recommended fixing depends on the support on which the railing is going to be installed: concrete, metal, wood or another material.
Each case may require a different type of fixing, so we recommend sending photographs and contacting our technical department before confirming the order.
How are the ends finished? (to a wall, to a post, to the floor)
The ends can be finished in different ways depending on the result required by the customer and the type of installation. These options can be selected on the railing product page.
Without posts, bolt-on feet, bolt-on plates, pre-drilled side fixings or cast-in feet can be used.
With posts, the fixing can be made to the floor with building work, to the floor with a bolt-on base plate, to the front face with building work or to the front face with a bolt-on plate.
What spacing between bars do you offer, and how does it affect safety? (children/pets)
The usual spacing between bars is approximately 11 cm.
This distance may be greater in some models with forged patterns or decorative elements, so it should be taken into account if the railing is going to be installed in areas where there are children or pets.
Can I request a specific handrail? What about dimensions and ergonomics?
Yes, you can request a specific handrail or a customised solution.
In these cases, we will review the request to assess what can be manufactured, which dimensions are feasible and which option best suits the railing and its intended use.
